Google API code invalid ???

    Hi,

    I am trying to use digitalpoint
    s keyword tracker tools to see where my site ranks for certain keywords. I signed up for a API key but I keep getting this error when I try to use digitalpoint's program:

    The request returned the following error:
    Exception from service object: Invalid authorization key

    -then it lists out my invalid authorization key

    I don't know what I am doing wrong, do I need to install anything on my domain name before this works? I know there are three options when I sign up for my google key, which one do I choose (i tried all of them).

    -Installed applications
    -Web applications on the domain:
    -I already have a developer key, I only want to sign up in order to be able to use it with the Google Base data API

    Can someone please help?

    You sure it's your Google SOAP API, and not an AJAX API key?

    Sounds like you're using the wrong auth key.

    Yes, i'v had such a problem before and did contact google to get the key replaced.

    Take a closer look at your key, it contains a doubled-equals (==), or a (back)slash or maybe even both. This is a very rare bug and my case was the key having \t somewhere which is translated into a tab by the scripts..

    Contacted google, got it replaced in 72 hours.

    Good luck.

    Hi,

    Again, fairly new to this so bare with me. I go to this page on google:

    http://code.google.com/

    The only link I can click on that has the words SOAP is the Adwords API, so I click on that, log into my account, and it just says that I need to install the following code in each page of my site:

    <script src="http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js" type="text/javascript">
    </script>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    _uacct="UA-xxxx-x";
    urchinTracker();
    </script>

    So I obviously need to (1) past this code above (with my uacct #) in ever page of my site and then (2) take my uacct # (in between the "") and plug that into digital point's tool to make this work, is this correct or am I on the wrong track?

    Also, do I need to install something on each page for the Yahoo & MSN one to work, or can that just be installed on the server and I am good to go?

    Thanks for your help

    Google nolonger allows new Soap API key signups and the Keyword Tracker needs a Soap API and NOT the Ajax API key. Shawn will need to change how the keyword tracker works.
