http://adsense.blogspot.com/2014/06/new-ad-sizes-for-google-adsense.html Just came in my email, these ads are huge! They would have to pay way more to even be considered!
As they say, you can only include one of these huge sized ads per page of content. I suppose it can be worth it in some scenarios.
It looks interesting and I'm looking for new ads for my new site, but I'm already using the 300x600 and it's doing pretty well on one of my other sites. However, my best performing ad is at the bottom of the content... It might be something I explore in the future.
# Then again, if they attract more 'attention' it might make up the huge size for clicks (ad revenue). Would love to see some people test this and report back the results .
Thats awesome now we have better chances of showing larger ads to our audiences and this could really improve clickthrough rates..
It's like putting all of your eggs in one basket, hoping that someone sees it. I don't know. I might try it out for a month or two. I guess I don't have anything to lose. Maybe with one Google ad on the page, it will increase the CTR.
Do they still not let you put stuff in your footer ? Do you think they might let you use one of the big ones in a footer ? I have been away from web stuff for a while, and am a bit rusty..
You should be able to run 2 other ads on the same page just 1 of these new ad sizes. Then again, you may want your visitors to see more 'content' then ads per page
I make more money with button sized ads. no need to waste page space. max two ads per page , half banner or button size. %35 - 40 CTR. Less ads per page means most desperate and high paying, most relevant advertiser for your content. Don't ask me how.
Looks interesting and promising, it's probably not going to fit all the websites but it all depends on the placement. As long as you'll find a place where it does attract users without annoying them, then you probably found a good usage for it's enormous size.
Good for making extra money in Google, if handled right. But if a marketer put a non-Google ad of that size into their site pages, Google would say it "impaired the user experience," and would likely de-rank them. If G doesn't get a cut from something, it says it "must be spam."
