I know since a long time ago Google has been inserting YouTube videos to their natural search results. It's not surprising. However, I noticed that Google now is inserting YouTube crap videos (and channels) into their competitive and high traffic keywords. How do I know these videos are crap? Because these videos are only advertisement to individual websites. If you are living in the US, go to Google.com (or if you live outside US, use US proxy) then type "penis enlargement pills". I'm not a SEO who competing in this keyword, my friend told me about this. In the third position, you'll see this channel: youtube.com/PenisEnlargementP It is surprising for me because this man even doesn't have any videos. As you can see at his channel, he's only introducing his website there. How could this is happening? You can check the other keywords, especially about drugs. Type "weight loss pills" and you'll see that youtube.com/watch?v=ai6KyBlPPXc is on the third position. There is nothing useful about that video, only advertisement to the owner of that video (watch the video by yourself). Black hat methods using YouTube?
Yup you are exactly right, in the Videos defence it can have a lot of links to it and a lot of embeds on sites, even the video being on Youtubes pages can have some effect in Google - for instance the honor pages, when I launch my large campaigns (for customers) I can have around 60 honors at once - that's 60 links to my video from Youtube authority (honor) pages. Once you get to the point with a video above - you can dominate in Google results - the key is to use a title that's popular in Google as well.
No, it's on the third position. use US proxy if you are not living in the US. Google shows different SERPs for each country. It's on the third position. What surprising me is, this video even doesn't have any information at all beside promoting his website. What more surprising is, check the keyword "penis enlargement pills", the third position is even not a video, but only a YouTube channel. And the user who owns this channel even doesn't have any video. He's only using his channel to promote his website, check it out. (once again, Google shows different SERPs if you are not living in the US. From my country, this channel is ranked 10th but from Google.com US, it is on the third position) Well, can you explain about the youtube channel? I get your point about the video but how could only a channel without any video get a very good rank in competitive keyword? And I see that video (about weight loss pill) doesn't receive any honors. He is only getting around 1,500 views anyway. Not a good number, from my point of view.
There's several posibilities, maybe he had videos that have been removed by Youtube or by the member himself, maybe he has spammed comments on videos or within other members profiles, comment and profile spam will most likely be the key to his scam.
no, my question is, how could he get a very good rank? You said there are possibilities that his videos have been removed due to spam, etc. But what I want to ask is, how could a channel get a very good rank in competitive keyword? Nobody will link to a channel...
mmmm I think I did cover that above, if he's spamming comments, even ratings, on videos and member profiles then he's building back links to his pages, simply because his user name (acting as profile link) is being left on the videos / pages. So maybe he's finding profiles and videos with high PR to spam with his comments ?
This is interesting, thanks thsadmin. i will try to find out about this and let everyone here know when i done.
I think it is because Google owns youtube - and as such youtube keywords get a higher ranking. Also, Google has a financial interest driving traffic to youtube. People pay to put ads on youtube, these ads appear on youtube partner accounts. So the more traffic google can drive to youtube, the more ad views (ad impressions), the more clicks on ads, the more of a selling point google has. I also noticed that google was giving good rankings to youtube videos several months ago. Since then my youtube video titles have been short and sweet. The youtube video title is more then a title - its a very important key word. Google will scan the video titles, then give those videos a good ranking in its search results. As I have said in several of my post, if a website owner is focusing just on SEO and written articles, they are only reaching a small portion of their potential audience. Google has a financial interest in promoting youtube - use this to your advantage.
yes, but from my point of view, Google doesn't even care about the quality of the video. The sample is listed here. As i told you, the video about weight loss pills is so crap. What worse is, only a channel even can get the third rank in keyword "penis enlargement pills" (i don't know if tomorrow its rank go down). So basically what I want to discuss is, there are more ways to spam Google natural SERPs. SEO is one way, the other way is to create a video in YouTube, no matter how ugly it is. Earlier you said this video (about weight loss pills) gets the third rank maybe because it wins many honor, etc. but it doesn't. you even can see that the avg. rating for this video is only 3, not 5. And the video owner even moderate all comments so it means he set everything up. If you put negative comment, he will delete it. And about the channel, i don't think he gets plenty of links and most links in YouTube itself (if he spam comments, etc.) are "nofollow" so i still have no idea how could these video and channel could get very good rank in competitive keywords. This is a new spam game. Interesting but how long will it stay? I know Google wants to monetize YouTube but I think this is pretty stupid. I mean, look at those video and channel. They are so crap but Google place them in competitive keywords. If this trend is growing, I wonder how ugly Google will be. And of course I would be in. It's pretty easy to create a channel and even crap videos like that weight loss pill. Google looks stupid now. First, they never changed anything in their algorithm. Although many people here in DP said Google has been improving a lot but I see that gray and black hat SEOs still rule the web. And now this (youtube crap video and channel)? Wow...
IMO I don't think Youtube Channels are given any advantage, they are probably recieving a high amount of backlinks from other websites. The same goes with Youtube videos, I wonder if they count embeded videos as a backlink to the video, could be a possiblity.
Good question, I know youtube count the number of embeds that a video has and there's an honor for this achievement - called most linked video. Yup I think that there is a mix of comment spamming on Youtube, then there's the exterior linking which is most likely also spamming comments and sites elsewhere.
Well, today the youtube channel that I mentioned earlier (youtube.com/PenisEnlargementP) has gone from "penis enlargement pills" keyword in Google.com US, at least I didn't see it in the top 10 (i don't know if it gone to page 2). The SERPs for this youtube channel is changing pretty quickly. As for the youtube weight loss pills video, now he is on the fifth position under this keyword "weight loss pills". The SERPs look unstable for these youtube things.
Hey the youtube video (about weight loss pill) is back on track...now he's on the third position again under keyword "weight loss pills"...this is getting ugly. I mean, his video even only got 3 stars out of 5 from 8 users. It means YouTube users think that video is crap but Google still gives good rank for it. Wow...YouTube is a new spam machine.
Exactly why it's hot property and demand for views is quite high. You've just got to treat the video title and description like keywords and desired search results.
It's simple, he setup the channel and spammed links to it using Xrumer. See Here He's got a ton of spam links to it from .edu, .gov and every MFA, Guestbook and blog under the sun that isn't locked down. It's the latest trend, people making pages on other domains like Blogger, Forum Profiles and whatever else and spamming the links to them instead of their own domain to use as landing pages. Example, search "Buy Viagra" and This forum profile is in the top 10. Google just isn't capable of dealing with this stuff.
Yeah with the use of authority domains and xrumer one can do wonders...and xrumer is only getting better, defeating almost any captcha. I wonder how google will combat this. Luckily these results seem to disappear after a healthy number of days, but then its just a question of repeating the process on a similar website.
Wow did you notice that is a PR 5 member profile page? He has 0 posts in the forum too. The forums pr is only 6. Tricksy I say.
