Ive been reading and google doesn't like duplicate content on your website. I wanted to know does this also apply when you post something to multiple categories to your blog. Thanks

Even if you post in multiple categories it links to the same page/article. Duplicate content will be considered if you post the same article on different sites.

If you have same content on multiple pages, then thats duplicate content.

Google doesn't have the supplemental index any more.

In the earlier days, we used to see plenty of new wordpress sites falling into the index- posting to multiple categories being one reason.

All your posts won't be put into two categories right ? I mean you might have the odd post here and there going into multiple categories, but it won't apply to every post.

A single post in a full page probably does not matter as much.

You could use the more option to reduce the amount of text that may be seen as common to both categories.

Another alternative would be to use robots.txt to prevent Google from indexing a particular category/page.

You can generate content from article directories to your Wordpress. Google will be index your WP. Make sure to put the source to your WP. No problem!

You should try to put original content on every page to avoid the duplicate content penalty.

you should try to use the "more" tag. that would be better.

    Avoiding duplicated content in Wordpress?

Write your own handwritten content else make sure it is attractive and copyscape pass.

Use Google Sitemap Generator Plugin for submitting your pages to google. In the option tab disable the functions for indexing TAGS & CATEGORIES.

Create Robots.txt for shielding off this archives & categories for indexing.

    Use More Tag!

Go to Permalinks --> Set URL REWRITE TO : http://www.yourdomain.com/<POSTNAME>

DON"T use any auto rewrite plugins for wordpress.

My experience? The above simple adjustments will increase your SERPS more rather than spamming categorie names and tags on your blog + multiple categorie usages.

It took a while when I got this myself......
