Hi; Have you read before Google Universal Search? http://www.google.com/intl/en/press/pressrel/universalsearch_20070516.html http://blog.v7n.com/2007/05/16/major-google-changes/ What do you think about this? will it effect to your rankings?
don't like it. if i want anything other than regular search results (like news, images, or videos), i know where to go. for me, this makes it harder to find what i'm looking for by having to wade through unnecessary items. i have no problem with universal search if the special results are separated from the main results, like at the very top or very bottom, but not all mixed together
yes google is really a universal search and it is very effective in rankings bcoz now a dayz google is famous between every human.
definitely, it's not effective especially for newbies, this will give a lot of time for them to see what specifically looking for... further search categories and sections will be much helpful...
I think SEO will have more challenging task now to rank top position after google introduce the universal search...
content website will compete with image and video to be rank in 1st result page.. hard work for webmaster...
maybe people will pay more attention to images. but anyway people still will consider the content more than image. and what about if people stole or copy the images from other famous sites? XD
Maybe the users like it, because they will get their information more fast and easy. However, seo experts get new job now, they have to research the new algorithm and tell webmasters how to rank high in universal search!
At the moment what I can see from universal search is , Google is still give more weight to content website rather than image /video clip. Maybe google had taken consideration of people tends to view content rather than others.
from the point of view as a user and not an SEO, I love it.....I find videos in my search and I don't have to leave the search result to view the video
I think it sucks! If I wanted to look for videos I would use the appropriate search box or ate least "keyword" + video in my search.
