I have a website about computers and my web host is freewebs. I have put in meta tags and Google can read them just fine, but it can't read my title tags. On freewebs there is a section where you can add a title and a tagline to your website, and I did this because you have to in order to complete your site. But, I also have individual title tags in the html for each page. Google is only finding the title tag I put in freewebs, and it's finding it on all my pages. This is hurting my PR and I'm stumped as to what to do. If anyone here is familiar with freewebs and has any advice for me I would really appreciate it!
So can you change your title tag on free webs to match the title tags in your existing HTML? Or is it too many pages issue?
You can only enter one title and one tagline per website with that freewebs tool. I wish it were per page but unfortunately its not.
I did directly edit my html and put the tags in correctly. When I used a title tag checker it says each one of my pages has two title tags and google is only picking up the one from freewebs. Also, I heard freewebs was good which is why I tried it. I bought a domain name and got web hosting from them for only 15 dollars a year and up till this point I've had no problems. I have considered moving but I paid for a year and I want to get the full year.
Hmm .. if this is the case and there is a possibility of NOT using the tool, NOT using it would be the best choice imo. Take control over all of YOUR code if you can.
I tried not using the tool at all. If I do that google says I have a non descriptive title tag that contains no characters. And when I use a title tag checker it still says I have two tags. I like the idea of putting my main keywords in the title tag, but will that really help since it will be the same on every page?
