When people talk about getting keyword links is that the same thing as text ads?

I've got a very silly question. Is there are any way to distinguish between natural and sold links? For example this forum have a lot of links form any pages (signature links), these links change regularly and is there any penalty form G to this forum? I don't think so.

    The conclusion is
if you sell your links carefully, you will never have any troubles.
What does it mean carefully ?
    - No more than 10 links from first page
    - No more than 5 links from second pages
    - No more than 3 links from third pages
    - No more than 1 link from more dipper pages
    - Obey the niche of your website and target sites
    - Do not change links very often
    - Place links not in footer, but somewhere closer to navigation or embed them into text
    - Place only links to well developed sites.

It is funny to see someone (I've got many examples from this forum) with blogs with 500 (yes five hundred) links on front page asking why my very lovely blog banned by G?

guys. google loves links. no links to your site = no ranking. period. no question asked.
you just have to play it smart and not get 40,000 links pointing to ur site at once.
    Good luck!@
