Hello, I own a site called iLikeYou... iLikeYou is just a common sentence.. Unlike other sites like 'YouTube' for example which is a quiet unique name.. What I wanted to ask is - if there's still a chance for my site to get a good pagerank even though the name of the site is just a common sentence.. And one last thing ; Do you have any suggestions for me to get more traffic ? I have backlinks already.. I used a tool someone posted and sent my site to over 2500 sites. I get results when I'm searching for 'ilikeyou.tk' although there aren't any 'official' results for my site.. My site is quiet new.. it's already 1 week old. I know it might take some time until it'll get to google.. but until then.. I wanted to ask if there are any ways to improve my seo. The link is in my sig.. This site is about Facebook Likes Pages.. people can write and like their own messages or like anything posted by others. Keywords I use: facebook,like,facebook like,like pages, pages, friends,share,picture,video,button. I'm really new to seo so if I missed anything, just tell me !
Don't expect results after only one week- it takes time for the search engines to crawl you site (speed it up by submitting it -manually- to the main ones). And then you still have to compete against all other sites that target your keywords. Which, I must point out, are *very* sought after.- Start targeting less competitive keywords, preferable long-tail ones that contain your main keywords.
Any website has a chance to become successful online. It's just a matter of hard work, big investments and great ideas. The best way to get traffic for free is to SEO your site and rank high for some high volume keywords. Other free methods involve social marketing (social networks, niche forums, etc.) PPC is good for some instant traffic but it might be too expensive.
First recommendation is to stop worrying about PageRank. You can rank without it. It has nothing to do with your sites name. Read more about PageRank on the Wiki. Listen to zexy & start reading sites like SEOmoz, SEW, SELand, and BruceClay.com/Blog. Google guides are good and SEO Starter Guides (Google and SEOmoz both have these). You would do well to read more about what search engines want before jumping in head first.
Hi, 1. I think it should be a chance for any sites to have a nice ranking since domain name would only play a tiny role for ranking purpose. But, you need to targeted an effective and right keyword for your site, firstly. 2. Generally speaking, you need to keep your site fresh with niche relative contents and build more inbound links using your targeted keywords for a nice SERP ranking. I think this would be the most useful channel in the long run for traffic purpose. 3. Social media, article submission and press releasing are all nice methods for traffic purpose, too. all the best,
