Google downloads ODP's database from time to time and reformats it as the Google Directory. ODP is inherently more up to date.
Yep Jim, you're right Google RDF has about 40% of dead links whereas you keep numbers in DMOZ a bit lower than that fastreplies
That assumes the rate of decreasing dead links exceeds the rate of increasing dead links. It isn't real obvious which is greater.
So how often does Google update it's directory? I've been waiting for my DMOZ backlink to leak down to all the other directories, but that's taking forever!
Once you get in to the ODP don't hold your breath getting into the Google Clone of it. It could be a week, it could be a month, it could take OVER A YEAR, as they update about as sporadically as the ODP does...
You can contact Google - but I doubt they will do anything just for your site. There are tens of thousands of other sites that need updating since they don't update from ODP often enough to keep their directory up to date.
