    Hello DP users,

I am planning to soon launch a music website that will contain downloads. Since i plan to offer the songs in mp3 format which is not allowed by google. so i thought i could rar or zip all songs and then place on website.

Do you think that will create any issue ?? Any suggestions on that.

placing any link to a downloadable version of the song is illegal. I suggest staying away from it. Point to itunes links or something, just something thats legal.

the website will contain paki music and it will be 100% legal so don't worry about the legal aspect.

I just want to know, is there any problem related to google ads in this case ?

If there are no copyright problems, you're completely fine. Google only worries about copyrighted material.

To be 100% sure, I would email them directly. Make sure you note that they are legal mp3s.

I don't think so. As far as i have understood main point is downloads are forbidden and copyrighted. That's why google don't allow it.

There won't be any coprights issue for live play file. Right ?????

There's nothing as such as copyright protection in Pakistan. Make a search at google and you will find thousands of pages offering free Pakistani music... at least a hundred of them are adsense publishers since the very beginning.

Contact Adsense support, it's highly likely that you'd get a robot like email stating that you can't display ads on a page with copyrighted content.. You will have to explain to them that these music files are a) not copyright protected b) the artists themselves are looking for online promotions aka asking webmasters to promote them by offering their music on websites and c) you have a download disclaimer on your site that says: "content is for promotional purposes only, delete it after 24 hours and buy a cd of that artist" and your users are bound to agree with it before they download any file.
