(I'm not sure if this is in the right forum) I've recently started to watch my site in terms of the title and description that Google is using in search results. For the description, sometimes Google uses text from my homepage. Other times after the site gets crawled again, it uses the description that DMOZ has for my site. My homepage is much more keyword rich and descriptive, so I wish the DMOZ description wouldn't be used. Is this something I have no control over? Is there a reason this is happening? thanks for any info. Josh
DMOZ and Google during the last months they where affiliates but now I think DMOZ is separated from Google and the updates of DMOZ depends on their staff...I've seen the DMOZ is not updating maybe there is a financial problem.
Add the NOODP meta tag to your site. More info here: http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/google-supports-meta-noodp-tag/
