I am not sure if this is 'new' but I had not noticed it before today and due to recent lawsuits launched by Microsoft Corp, is this a reaction by Google to implicitly state their position? I have seen adsense on tonnes of 'typosquatting' websites and Google dont seem to mind: Is this a case of stating it so their legal position is covered and then simply waiting for typosquatting sites to be reported by companies who are having their trademarked names infringed on... they can then say they took affirmative action as soon as they became aware of the problem... However, it does leave them open in the sense they are not adequately monitoring domains they permit to run adsense by not checking *EVERY* website that wants to run adsense.
I done a google search for the term 'cybersquatting' and that was on the first page of results. I had previously not seen it in the TOS - any just checked and didn't see anything in the actual TOS agreement specifically for this. However, the search query I dont I found this page referring to squatting. https://www.google.com/support/adsense/bin/answer.py?answer=32727&topic=8526
