Google and Coop Vs MSN and Coop

    Hello,

Google sees very few BL from the Coop network.

My site is quite new and Google went from 0 BL to 10, to 29 and now 77. with 4 BL from the network.

In another hand MSN, Yahoo and Altavista went throung the same path (0, 150, 450 and now 1500 BL). MSN for example counting 1544 BL sees plenty of BL (too many to count) from the network.

Hotbot being the worse as its counting was like 0, 20, 300, 100, 50 and now 0

Do you know why such differences?

    Thank you
    Pierre

Google does not show all the backlinks...
    (Although it always sees them)

    And MSN isn't Higher?

It does happen but not all that often these days.

How do you determine if the links are from the Coop?

I click on the link and when I see the typical 5 links at the bottom of the page, it's coop. Mainly I look at BL I don't recognize. It's easy with google as it shows 77 BLs only :)

Trust me Google sees...but doesn't share it publicly. I think Google is actually one of the fastest to index bl's, they just keep it secret. I say this because my serps have never been so good. I have a total of 300k in weight. When my serp's start to decline under my most competitive keyphrase I add another 20k of weight...within a day my serps climb at Google, but nothing is visible as far as more bls

We must conclude from this that Google is not sharing all info with us. After all they are the biggest, badest SE on the planet. It doesn't make sense that they would be the slowest indexing bls. They have always been a step ahead of every SE, why would that be any different here? They're a step ahead, I believe, and elect not to show us but still give credit where credit is due.

Yes. There's of course no way to prove it and it's also possible that Google has discounted some backlinks for one reason or another but I think it's usually safe to assume that if MSN or Yahoo knows about it Google know about it too.

Agree this time TOTALLY Minstrel. Also noticed that I have been spelling your name wrong all this time...why didn't you tell me? Maybe you were just cutting me extra slack cuz I'm a canuck to :p.

I find MSN and Yahoo show bls in 1-3 days. I suspect Google is even quicker but as you suggest there is no way to confirm this.

    My thoughts as well.

I get a lot of different spellings of "minstrel" -- not sure why because I thought it was a common word but by now I'm used to it...

...that and of course the Canuck thing :D

to see your backlinks in google
    instead of "link:mysite.com"
    try using "mysite.com -site:mysite.com"

that'll give you a better idea of who's linking to you

Just in case you think I was yanking your chain about 'eh' here yu go...

    In the dictionary:
    eh interj.
Used in asking a question or in seeking repetition or confirmation of a statement.
Chiefly Canadian. Used to ascertain or reinforce a listener's interest or agreement. :p
