To see statistics of the website, Google Analytics is one good tool. And are you asking about reading report(s) or integrating it in the website?

You need to use Analytics to see the source of your traffic. When you analyse your visitors you will be able to optimize your website and see which way you need to go.

    Hi

Google analytics is the medium by which we are able to find out the latest status for our website. If we are using this then we can find out the number of visitors and location of the visitors by which medium we are getting traffic and all.

Hope this will useful for you.

    Its neither important nor mandatory.
Its just a tool to log your visitors and some other metrics you might need to know how your website is performing.
You can even choose not to use that. There are many other alternatives available, for example; StatCounter.

If you want to keep a record of all analytics about your website then you may use it otherwise it's not necessary.

Google analytic is a tool to know about how your website is performing, this provides traffic information, keyword analysis and more. This is a good analyzer.

Google Analytics is a free online program that tracks visitors to you site. It shows tons of information, including a map of all the cities / countries / continents that have visited your website / blog. It also shows you where people most exit, how long they stay, and much more. It can even bring you to your site, and by every link is a percentage telling you how many times the link has been clicked. Google Analytics does not let you see your visitors live, so you don't know if anyone is on at that very second.
All you need to do is enter a simple line of code onto the pages you want monitored. Its very useful, and can work on blogs, but I would recomend the free Woopra software. On this you can see when people are on your site live, and you can start a chat with them.

I used my Google Analytics mostly to observe my daily traffic and the regions where it came from. It can also show you what keywords brought people to your website that is very important too, because you can see the most profitable and popular words.

Your information is very useful to me. My clarification is now removed. Is there any discrimination from google analytics to google webmaster tools.

Use Analytics to track your sources of traffic. If you notice that one particular source is providing more quality traffic than another source then put more effort into promoting your website to the better quality source.

Also, use Analytics to find out conversion rates. A low conversion rate means either you are not getting focused traffic, or your page is not optimized to sell.

Google Analytic is very handy tool. With the help of Google Analytic you can See how many people are on your site right now, where they came from, and what they're viewing. With Real-Time, you'll know whether new content on your site is popular, whether today's promotion is driving traffic to your site, and you can see the immediate effects of tweets and blog posts.
Analytic is a helping tool but it is not necessary.
