Can't really tell you which one of them is more accurate because both uses different methods of data collection and usually Statcounter tracks more visits compared to Google Analytics while this is opposite is observed in terms of page views whereby analytics will show way above higher figures. Overall I can't tell you which one is better, both have their pros and cons and method of tracking. It's up to you to decide. And oh yeah....I'm using analytics at the moment.
So if stat counter tracks more views, are those views real? Why doesn't analytics track the same views? Thanks for the reply
I use both, google analytics to get statistic and statcounter to know where my visitor come from and which keyword they used on search engine.
Analytics actually shows higher number of page views. There are many reasons that could lead to the difference. One of it is that Statcounter uses mainly javascript and the lower figure could be due to certain net users who do not have javascript enabled. Don't get yourself confused, visits and page views are two different things. As I mentioned before, Statcounter tracks more visits while opposite is seen for page views.
I use Statcounter for tracking the actual number of visitors and use GA for analysis. Statcounter doesn't track page views accurately all the time though as someone mentioned and it's a bug. I've had days where they reported the same amount of visitors and page views and elsewhere I had 20 or 30 page views for some people and most multiple. GA for whatever reason misses out on some visits but is great for analysis. If I had to choose one it would be GA ut I've had the statcounter code up for years and there's no reason to take it down. HI, i have never used any traffic checker tool rather than google analytics so i can't tell you much about statcounter but any services offered by google would be the best and also for free of cost..
I didn't used statcounter yet...but I think Analytics is better. Personally, I use analytics and histats.
I am using both, however prefer looking at stats from Statcounter - which is more easy to navigate. Analytics is delayed reports, while statcounter is live upto the last minute -- another reason to prefer statcounter over GA. Overall both are useful for different reasons though and I suggest using both
i think stat counter is better than analytics. i use both, statcounter gives your more details. and thats is the actual plus point about it.
