    Hi

I observe a huge difference between the two services for my sites:

    One of them:

Google Analytics give me an average of 17 visitors per day
Awstats give me an average of 127 visitors per day

Do you have this huge difference ??

I find it likely that you're looking at unique visitors on Analytics and total visits with Awstats (where one unique may account for several visits). In addition, Analytics is javascript based so visitors with that disabled or machine visits that don't load javascript won't show up.

I'm comparing "visits" and not Unique.

If I check the number of "page viewed", the average is:
    Google Analytics: 43
    Awstats: 175

I don't think there is so much people that have disabled the javascript.

When I check the stats with "adsense", the result is between Google Analytics and Awstats. I don't know which service is better, but if I prefer Google Analytics, I will never be disappointed

AwStats got different settings the way they analyze the logs. I think that could be the reason. From my experience the number is double generally at AwStats.

As mdvaldosta said, it will be to do with java being disabled.

Buyers prefer analytics for non-proxy sites. It's far more accurate. Awstats is more professional like though.
    Personally, I prefer Awstats.

I also notice the location tracker of awstat is not correct..

For me I rely on Google analytics.

I have read article in the internet saying that there are only very few people who turn off their javascipt maximum of 5% only based on their study

i prefer analytics it seems more reliable and the figures are more conservative, which means that your numbers aren't overinflated.

Google Analytics is far more advanced than Awstats. Data gathered from Analytics is used by Google. This data must be accurate for it is the bread and butter of Google's marketing target.

well I am very much satisfied with awstats and always find maximum information. I dont have to rely on other tools after analysing this tool.

GA is advanced however the results it gives are not correct.
Awstats being on the webserver and reading the RSL(raw server logs) provides accurate information.
