Google Analytics, use urchin.js or ga.js?

    Hi, ive just signed up to google analytics, should i use urchin.js or the new ga.js?

    Edit: Ignore me, i just realised i can only select the new one anyway.
    Edit2: Wrong i can choose either, very confused today, lol

    The urchin.js will be phased out leaving you to change to the new ga.js anyway, so it would be best to use the newer script from the start.

    Word of warning - don't mix the two like I did :eek:

    Thanks Jon, i went for ga.js as you mentioned, yeah i read on there a warning about not mixing the two.

    Now i just need to wait 24 hours or so :) ive only added one site so far until i get used to finding my way around the stats.

    I am using "urchin.js" for all my sites, I wonder whats the difference between the 2 ?

Installing the lighter ga.js code snippet instead of the old tracking code (urchin.js, "legacy") lets you take advantage of upcoming advanced features and sophisticated reporting while keeping the reliable tracking capabilities of urchin.js.
