Google Analytics Tool

Sorry I haven't intensely combed through the forum looking for an answer to this question, and I'm sure it's been talked about, but I'll ask it again. The google analytics tool. First, I'm under the impression that it is free. But when I went to sign up, it's asking for information for billing purposes.
Second, what kind of information does it provide that my own tracking tags will not? Or what kind of info does it provide period?
Third, MSN is coming out with a similar product. Has anyone tried that?
    Thanks in advance

Google analytics is feee, what is the url you are signing up to as I don't think it's analytics.

Google analytics provides a whole host of tracking, it is a match for most mid range tracking software (and it's free) definitely worth installing.

If you post the url you are trying to sign up to I can tell you where you are going wrong - I haven't heard of msn bringing out anything like analyitics - do y ou have a link?

    Cheers

Yeah... Google analytics does not charge a single cent. It's a really great tool. :)

Perhaps a screenshot of that page you mention would help. As mentioned already, Google Analytics is free to use.

Sign up to Google Analytics so they can know even more about your site... I'm using it too and its very good but just cant help thinking that they must also be using this data too to help with their SERPS.

Beware! analytics adds some load time to your pages.
If you use firefox, you can see how much time adds with the Firebug plugin in the "Net" tab.

Google analytics is a great FREE tool.
I have installed this on all of my sites.
As for page load times i have not noticed any difference or any server load increases?

Go for it .... well worth the sign up time.
