How come my analytic stats are not even close to the stats I get from other stats counters? Looking at the stats from my webserver you would think it is 2 completely different sites.

Analytics is javascript, so bots, a very few people with ancient browsers, and folks running a particular FireFox plugin to block GA don't show up.

    Yes Videodoll,

You need to make sure that you put the code in the right place. Anyways, no two analytics tool will show you the same figures. They will always defer. I tried using Google Analytics and AW Stats, but they are always different.

    Just my 2 cents.

google and statcounter two different systems. i mean don't expect same number from both. But if you check both you can see same waves up and down.

I think, the only similarities of Analytics and StatCounter is that they show us the traffic we are getting...but they have totally different ways or parameters or algorithm on calculating/computing your traffic. its obvious because they show different results.

I moved the code up above the body tag and it seems to be reporting more accurately now. Of course it hasn't even been a full day so I need to give it some time...

Google Analytics and Statcounter shows different results because they have their own basis for checking the activity of a site specifically the page visits.. analytics relies on ip while statcounter is on cookies

well you should keep in mind that analytics offer stats for 24 hours ago. so, today, you'll get statistics for yesterday.

You can check the data from about 1 hour ago if you go into the calendar and select the current day (the one which is excluded by default).
