Google Analytics Shows My Domain Traffic Is Split, How do I Fix This?

    I checked my google analytics for one of my accounts to find that my traffic is split for the top level of one of my domains:

    /
    148 18.73%
    /index.html
    74 9.37%


    I'm not really trying to rank for the top level as it's a bit of a filter page which I don't send traffic to directly, but I suppose I should fix it as it will help me to rank better in general. How can I combine these into one?

    What you can do is only have links going to: /

    Instead of to /index.html
