what does it mean when I see keywords in google analytics that have brought me like 10 visitors in a day, but when I type them on Google my site doesn't even show up in the first 40 results or so... how can a keyword bring me such a good amount of visitors in a day when I dont even have a good ranking for it?

am I checking in the wrong google? Which Google does Analytics use? Google.com US? Google.com Local (where you are located) ?

the Google analytics data includes data from all countries.

so it is possible that for that particular keyword, you are ranking well only in some regional serps.

there should specify where the traffic from.
you can specify the geo location and see the re-defined result, then you try to search it again in that google local site and you should able to see your site show up there.

10 visitor is not much, it can be listed at the Page 5 ~10.
    Check your SERP
