My Adsense account is properly counting all my visitors (closely matches Statcounter too), but my Analytics account is only showing about one-fifth the number, consistently. In Analytics, when I click through to the Content/Adsense area, it does bring forth my (accurate) Adsense page views numbers properly. But every other area on Analytics shows the reduced numbers. This is happening across three websites on two different sets of Analytics/Adsense paired accounts. So it's not one particular account and it's not one particular site. I use the Yoast Google Analytics plugin. I've looked at the source of many of the pages on all the sites, and they have the Analytics code section on the page. I could not find any that were missing. So it looks to be working properly. So, I went back through my Analytics to see when this began, figuring I'd see one date that it started miscounting. Oddly, there was no abrupt change. So I continued looking back many years, and it shows about 1/5th the traffic, consistently, since the beginning. What's crazy is that even though I don't go into Analytics much, I do go in every few weeks to take a look around. I would have noticed all those times that the traffic numbers were way low. We're talking the difference on one site of about 15,000/day page views in Adsense but only about 3,000 on Analytics. That, I'd notice. So, it's as if Google Analytics went back through all my data history and changed the numbers in one feel swoop, and then continued at that point miscounting. Can anyone offer any explanation for me?
I have the same issue with GA I am not sure if they are miscounting on purpose or (my site is pretty new) they don't bother to track new sites that accurate. If anyone has explanation it will be highly appreciated.
