Yes, it may take longer.

For example, I know that it's supposed to update my stats every hour ("but may take up to six hours") but it usually updates just two to three times a day.

In fact, I have no data reported for today.

 

This is great. I was just starting to research BUYING a new tool, and along comes G giving away what appears to be a great tool. Can't wait to try it out.

It is actually quite genius... Convince hundreds of thousands of publishers to shift some of their budget from paying for web analytics, to marketing and traffic building (adwords).

 

I'm getting this for one of my sites:

2 other sites did clear but no traffic yet

me too, i think they are still trying to manage all the crazy webmasters (like us) trying to sign up today, oh well.. soon we will have this working great n.n

I added one site.

Since you use your Google account, this should only be used for sites that you want G to know are yours. If you have a network of sites that are more or less anonymous, you can't take advantage.

 

While I have never seen Urhin in action before, I was very impressed with what I saw in Google Analytics.. Just installed the code and we'll see... looks awesome. I was having some issues with the stat counter I have now.. can't wait to see the results!!

 

yeah I wondered about this would google use this info to rank sites based on who owns what?

I guess there goes my plans of linking my sites from different IPs

 

I get the error:
Tracking Unknown
The Google Analytics tracking code has not been detected on your website's home page. For Analytics to function, you or your web administrator must add the code to each page of your website.

And the code is installed JUST before the </head> tag!! Anyone else?

 

Same problem for me. I installed the code just before the </head and I get same message.

 

sorry if someone answered this already but why do you guys think they are making this free? what's in it for them?

 

Looks like a very good service from Google. I have been using the free webalizer and awstats.

Anyone actually got it to work?

 

My sites are not yet being detected by Google, as also experienced by some others here... waiting with fingers crossed...

yeah!! it would be nice if they provide to import Raw files to get old data.

 

Looks like nobody has seen any real stats using the Google Urchin tool...

By the way, can you sign in to the Google stats tool using the Google adsense account? or the Gmail account?

 

set-up on a couple of different sites...

getting same 'not detected' message ... interesting to see the outcome of this

 

If you are talking about analytics, then you can sign in using your Gmail account.
