Hello Webmasters, Hope you are doing well !! i have a question how to know that in google analytics visitors male vs female.
That data is not available in Google Analytics by default. But you can collect the data using custom variables. Create a form where user can enter the data about their gender. Use custom variables to collect those data and pass it to analytics. You can find many tutorials about custom variables, just google it
Yes, There are no option to track male and female data in Analytics and also it's depend upon nature of business. So create a custom form with male and female to collect data from users.
You can track gender of your traffic with Quantcast and Alexa. However, you need to install their tracking script just like Google Analytics.
How is it possible?? How Quantcast and Alexa understands the gender of a user without any custom form or something??
Quantcast and alexa try to make an educated guess based on what sites the visitor went to and through collection of searches and other data. For example, if you were to visit a celebrity blog - there's like 70% chance you're female, while if you visit a car tuning site or hardware security site, there's 80% chance you're male. Those are just examples and obviously it's not the best way to guess someone's demographics, but that's how those big research companies do it.
Yeah Slincon I got that. But still I guess using custom variable and query form filling will be more accurate method to track.
as it's depend upon nature of business, you can't determine male and female Analytic So you must create a custom form with male and female to collect data from users.
This topic gets into a grey area with the Google Analytics Terms of Service (ToS) - it's not quite personally identifiable information (PII), which is not allowed in Google Analytics, but it's close.
