    Shawn,

the google analytics code kills me. it makes any page of the forum load in 20-30 seconds .... or NEVER. can you check if it is all OK with it ???

anyway.... i just blocked it from the firewall... any access to www.google-analytics.com is denied... but i'm sure others see this problem too.

hehehhe, firewall didn't block it 100%... i beleive it blocked it sometimes. but i found the solution if you are using Firefox ;)

so, in the file userContent.css which should be in the Firefox's APPLICATION DATA (found somewhere in DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS), you should put:

    SCRIPT:source[HREF*="google-analytics"] IMG

also add a "," after IMG if you have other rules after this one. hope this helps you.

I've never noticed any problems on this site, or any of my sites that I use it on.

DP seems slower, but is that because of server load or GA

    Seems faster now...

This forum should have it's own server, that's what I say, nothing else on it

I agree, I don't think it would need a big server - just a dual xeon or something.

I never had an issue with this, but it seems several did. Here's some info I found on threadwatch. Seems google was testing an update to the javascript file. http://www.threadwatch.org/node/5838

An interesting thing I read was if you placed the analytic javacript as they instructed, right before the </head> any issues on their side would cause the entire page not to load.

I'm going to put the code on the bottom of my pages, which I should have done to start with.
