As what i understand, the exit pages presented in our google analytics account are those pages where users tend to bounce or flee from the site. What i usually do is update the content, put links to other pages on my site, and re-promote it by re-submitting to social networking sites. a) As a webmaster, what you do about it? b) Is it the best thing to do? or are there other ways? Forgive me for my Beauty Queen-like questions. Thanks.
Bounces are people who leave right away, spending ~0 seconds on your page. In and out for nothing. Exits are people who read a page for a certain amount of time, then leave. They may have read everything on the page, spending 10 minutes on site, but they still leave. I think your approach is pretty good, not many webmasters would bother to do it. Do you get good results doing this? Personally if my Exit % on pages is too high, I; Add links to related articles ("If you read this you'll like...") Add multimedia (Images in a sidebar to entice people) Try to write with a twist that implies a solution to a problem is on the next page ("That's sorted that problem, but do you know what to do if???")
I am currently observing for the results but based on the pages i have modifiedm, there was.. * A reduced exit page % by about 10% currently. * An increase in adsense earning. * An increase in website traffic. * New exit pages emerged. The exit pages that i have modified are one of the top pages on my website. It might be a coincidence but i'll try to observe more and expecting things like: * Other old pages (where i linked to) will be crawled again. * Increase in pagerank. * Better website traffic.
