Google Analytics is going crazy for me

Hi everyone.

For the past 2 days my google analytics has been giving me some strange data.

Our site Linkspub usually gets about 80 - 100 visits & 300 - 400 pageviews a day from all over the world.

For the past 2 days, I'm seeing around 300 visits and around 550 pageviews, 95% from the United States.

I'm seeing very few visits from Europe and Asia.

Seems a little strange, cause my alexa didn't go up or anything.

I think the reports are not correct.

Anyone else seeing something strange on Google Analytics.

I actually started using google analytics only the day before yesterday but I am getting some puzzling results. It seems to be under-reporting my visits by about 5-fold and my pageviews by about 10-fold when compared with my Awstats report.

I was going to leave it for a few days and see if it changes.

 

Can this be accounted for by bot activity?

 

A bot wouldn't load the javascript file which google analytics uses to collect data.

 

There must be something wrong!
I had also something strange today.

Look at this pic:



They didn't log anything for about 6h on my page.
And I had half of the impressions that i had on the day before,
and than I have normaly.
Someone else had something like this?

 

I've just taken another look and I'm getting the same thing, no traffic at all from 07:00 to 15:00. I guess we're set up from different time zones.

same here and what makes it worse it is same on adsense .
Ok my new sites went bad on the serps , too.
But my main sites serps has not changed , and when I look at the logs with a log analyzer there is no change.But analytics and adsense says there is a change.

 

Well im glad to know that im not alone here.

I was starting to wonder what is going on.

You know, I have a hunch.

The new live search started Nov-07 and they could have a bot not yet known to google and this could be its activity.

Who knows, but I think it will be resolved soon knowing that other people are also seeing some strange reports.

 

This may not be the right thread, but I have a question on analytics.

I want to sign up for analytics. Is there any downside to it?

 

I only started it last Thursday but I've not really noticed a downside with it yet. The interface takes a bit of getting used to if you want to get more than the basic info though.

 

Yeah Big Brother Google knows everything about your Traffic. At least for those who have javascript on..

 

Does google use the traffic information also along with other factors like pr, backlinks, content to determine a site's position in serps?
