Google analytics: How to track PDF conversions

Hi everyone. I am a certified Google Adwords account manager. However, I am not as experienced with Google Analytics. I am working for a client that sells passports/visas. A user downloads a PDF form online and then can mail the form to the client. So, there is no way of implementing a conversion code to track this since customers do no submit anything online. Is there any way of tracking users who click on an Adwords ad or organic results and download a form? I tried using the funnel tracking deal with Google analytics and it did not work.

    Hello CancerCharity,

We have also developed our new website and will want to track the same. I haven't researched it till yet. But, soon going for it. I have a suggestion not of Google analytics. You can take information of a user whenever he want to download a pdf, just name and email. It will let you know whenever a user download pdf and you also have the database of your users. Hope my suggestion make sense.
    Regards,
    Shruti

    Hello there,

There are two ways you can make this happen. Say you have a page domain.com/form.html where you have a link on it says "Download Form" which suddenly open the download box. This case the click is the what we need to track. Go for the event tracking here and find how many click events are recorded = Conversion

The other way is to make that form open in a page, Now the page URL can be the goal target

Another work around is to make an interactive form which once completed will be sent to the client email ID automatically. Once the form is completed only, have them show a thank you page

You can also use track pageview by Google analytics. It's lot less fussy then even tracking code.
