So I always hear people talking about fully setting up google analytics, setting goals and what not. My situation is that my goal is to get people to call me. My phone number is on every page and ideally I want people to just call me immediately from my homepage. Is there any way I can take advantage of the goals in Goole Analytics or is there something I should be doing with analytics besides just monitoring and analyzing my traffic. I guess ultimately I would like to make my website have a higher conversion rate. Any suggestions?
As far as i'm aware, the goals only tracks URLs so there is no way to know when a phone number has been called. What you could do is create a 'Contact us' page and then track that with a goal. Then you could personally record how many calls you get and reference it against the goal. Not exactly the best way but its an idea..
Yes, this is true - you cannot track phonecalls. You will have to track the phonecall's manually when the person rings. You will then have to ask them where they heard about you etc, and track it that way. I wish there was a way to track phonecalls through Organic/Paid traffic, but there is not. It's a pain in the arse tracking conversion traffic for a hotel chain, restuarant etc
