Google Analytics Help

We are currently using Google Analytics to track online activity but so far can only do so for referrals so that we know what sites people are coming to use from but not if they actually convert and buy our product. When people click on the "apply now" button on our site a seperate new secure window (with a new url) opens.

Hence, we need help to configure Google Analytics to track conversions.

I would greatly appreciate if someone can give some advice for this problem?

I don't think it can on secure pages (for security reasons)

Is the analytics code on the new page?

That is the idea, I am tracking visitors for the landing page but I want to also track visitors that click a secure "Apply Now" button, something like tracking PreSales in a secure environment.

Any suggestions are welcome, thank you for your time.

    <a onclick="urchinTracker ('/internallinks/my_secure_button');" href="https://www.domain.com/shop/">Super Dooper Secure Button</a>
    HTML:
You need to have goals setup too.

which would be setup like this:

    Goal URL: /internallinks/
    Name: whatever you feel appropriate

    click save.

You can add this to other buttons, just change whats after /internallinks/, so

    /internallinks/link1
    /internallinks/link2

    etc
