Google Analytics gives wrong stats?

    Hello, all! I have a little, but unpleasant problem about Analytics. My site is listed in Yahoo and Business.com directories, so I'm kinda waiting a little piece of traffic from them. But Analytics says, that there were only 3 hosts during last month from these directories.. Ok, it's possible, but when I tried to visit my site from these directories myself, Analytics reports, that there wasn't any visit! I tried to do that from different IPs and even through proxies for at least ten times, but it was all senseless - no signs of my visits! Did anyone meet such a trouble? thanx!

    wait for the next day, then look again in your stats

    You have to wait 24 hors to start seeing all the results for that day.

    Thanx, guys, but I'm really not such a noob for that ;) I've been visiting my site regularly for a whole week, and nothing has changed.

    I have a similar experience with them these days. Their stats are not comparable to the host stats or some other site's I use.

    yes sir you are. Dont rely on directories for traffic.

    Analytics does not count your own hits, Google knows everything!!!

    Tim, I said that I've been waiting for a little (a bit more than 1 host/month) piece of traffic from such big directories as Yahoo and Business.com. And the problem about analytics remains the same, sir, why did u ignore it? ;)

    seconnection, it seems not, I've been testing it for whole week and results are the same.

    searchia, thanx, but my client's using analytics and I'm searching how to explain him this result. Simple "Google is lying" isn't enough :) upd: I know, that I can use logs or another counter, but I reserve this for the last resort, because it's rather hard to reach actual webmaster. And just wanted to know real cause.

    google count every one just 1 time. but i think if you change Analytics script on your template your problem will be solved.

    use awstat the best tool i have ever found in my life. Yes there are many but this one is as per my requirement and its totally free of cost.

    i've the same problem with analytics. i use awstat and statpress plugin and they give quite different number of visitor. but analytics reports very different number of visitors.

    i think google have bugs :D LOL

    So, I've started to use statcounter, which is really much more representative. I want to accumulate stats from both counters, and then it would be much clearer :)
