Google Analytics - Free 5-stars web stat

Just signed up Google Analytics last week. The report is so vivid and pro that I can't believe that it is free. I will surely rate this 5-stars free service from Google. :)

However, may be the report is too detailed, it took me an hour to read all the useful reports!

Did you request an invitation last week or you just your invitation last week? I'm still waiting.

It is really amazing. I got in when it first opened so I have had some time with it. In this time I have figured out most of what I need, but there is still plenty that I have not explored much.

That said, once you have it connected to AdWords (if you use adw) it becomes even that much better.

For those of you who might not know, Google Analytics is what they did with Urchin.

I didn't like it. Couldn't find good referrer data.

Well, it's okay. I guess it is more that I don't like how it is presented. First things are not named well (at least for the target I would be included in). Also, the data isn't presented in a way that is convenient for what I am after. For example, there are three basic things that I want to be able to look at:

    1) General stats (uniques, page views, etc.). It does this one fine

    2) Referrer data (I want to be able to see numbers for each domain and URLs. I want to be able to see full URLs for referrers, not cut off after dynamic characters. ...and I want it presented in an easy to read way. I don't like how Google has the domain and then splits the pages off under it, which are not clickable.

    3) Search engine data (this one is does okay, but it does not split up the results by search engine. So, again you have to drill down for each individual keyword to see which engine brought the traffic.)

So, as you can see, the main trouble is that it takes A LOT of clicks to see what I want to see...whereas with the stats I use now, you can see it very easily and it is separated to where it is faster to read and reference the data.

I agree with you. However, I am sure that Google will improve this very soon. You can try tracksy.com. I love the URLs presented in a clickable way. :)

That one is better, but I still favor what I am using now. Plus, that one has a similar problem with the search engine keyword results. It would be best if it were separated by search engine, IMO.

www.megastats.com There are two issues I do not like about it. However, all things considered, it is the best solution I could find for a reasonable price.

Ive been using GA since the beginning but I just added code to some more sites and its been "awaiting data" from those sites for over a week now.
Does anyone know why this would happen?

i dont really like it to be honest. the numbers reported by analytics and awstats are completely different. i mean, not like out by 10 or 20 hits, im talking over 500 hits sometimes. where do they all go?

Maybe it is because analytics needs enabled java to count?

yeah where in GA exactly is the actual site rferrals, and what was queried in the engine for that refferal

Sidente: google is just genius, not only do they get to serve se results buty now they get to see how much of it they are giving to our sites, and where else we are getting it from

You mean you pay $5.95 per month for the stat? Do you think it's worthy to pay for stat since you can use tracksy or GA?

Actually, I pay more than that because of my pageview count. However, yes, it is worth it for me. It is very useful to know the search terms separated by engine and also to have full referrer info.
