Not sure where to put this, but Google groups is just useless to me, I thought this would be a good place to find my answer. I'm trying to set up filters for my domain in Google Analytics. I would like to get stats for specific folders, but everytime I add a filter, it filters the original domain stats too. I need a setup where I get stats for the entire domain, and I have stats for a folder. Is this possible through filters or do I have to give a new tracking code to every folder I want to track separately?
Add a filter and give it a specific name. Select "Include only traffic from a subdirectory" from the filter type dropdown list. In the subdirectory field you have to put the name of the subdirectory with ^/ and / surround it. For an example: ^/yoursubdirectory/ This should work, but you have to do this manually for every subfolder you got.
What about the "apply filter to website profiles"? Should I make a new profile for it under the same domain (and same code) and apply it to that?
