Today i found a very strange thing in my Google Analytics Report. I have more than 20 websites. Some of them having traffic more than 5000 visits daily. Traffic of most of the website are this way Usually SE Traffic ---------- Direct Traffic 70 - 75% ---------- 20 - 25% But Today SE Traffic ---------- Direct Traffic 20 - 25% ---------- 70 - 75% For all the websites. How it is possible? How can SE traffic goes down from 70% to 20% without any fluctuation in the keyword ranking. And my all website showing direct traffic of more than 70%. for google analytics report snapshots: click
An odd result. Taken individually I would have said it's just a short term statistical anomaly, but with both traffic sources showing such a dramatic and opposite change, I'd say it's an error with the analytics reporting. If so, Google will probably correct the problem shortly. Have you noticed any corresponding change in sales or other conversions on your sites? If so, this may indicate a more serious problem. It might be worth considering setting up a secondary stats reporting system on your sites, in addition to Google analytics, as a backup measure.
I'm seeing something similar on 1st April, Direct traffic increased 10x, search engines traffic remains as normal.
