Google analytics and goal tracking, can I set it up like this?

I put in the domain of the advertiser I want to send traffic to in the goal. So the goal should register successfully if a use goes to that site?

Problem is, when I go to goal conversions, it is showing up as 100% converted out of 40 unique visitors. That can't be right can it?

How can I set up a goal to detect a page visited not on my own website?

    Thanks for any help!

But you want does a conversion consist in? A visit?

If you place the URL in Meta Conversions 40 visits will naturally convert 40 times over.

Yes, a conversion in this case is just a visit to that URL.
I'm wondering why 100% of people who come to my site leave through this url. It is very targeted but surely at least 1 of them don't. That's why I am wondering if I set it up correctly.

the example google gives for entering a goal is.
    http://www.yoursite.com/thankyou.html

but I didn't put my site in, I just put
    http://www.myadvertisersite.com

All I want to see is if they visit that site. Is this a valid setup?

But you are placing another site in the conversion goal?

Let me see if I get this straight. You have two domains. One of them has the Analytics code implemented and the other has the same analytics code implemented. You place the Url of the second domain the the meta conversions of the first domain's analytics account.

If this is what your doing, your doing it all wrong.

You can only track conversions and general stats for the domain for which the analytics code was initially generated too.
