Google Analytics and excluding web crawlers

    I'm new to Google Analytics and was wondering if Google Analytics automatically "excludes" web crawlers (e.g. Googlebot, yahoo's, etc) from your "unique vistors", or do you have to add a filter to exclude them from being considered a unique vistor?

    it doesnt counts spider hits. Only human visits are considered by google analytics
