For one of my websites Google always caches Error page. Or it is always the bad luck that whenever robot pays a visit it sees error page because either website was down or couldn't reach the network.

    There are 2 qs
    1) What is the wrong? why always it caches error page and how to find it out? How to get it fixed.

    2) I've changed the title, metatags and content of that page to be same as index page so that even if error occurs the error page shows meaningful content and not ERROR. This is the text which is shown in search result.

    Am I missing something?

well i don't have an answer for this one... I guess its a serious trouble... you should check out your sites down time... else your site may land in google sand box... waiting for someone to give a suggestion...

Yes it is a trouble always caching error doesn't make sense until Google bot is clever enough to know in advance when the site will be down ;)

I think I'm about to make the greatest discovery of mine in recent years just verifying the last stages.

It is with all bots so you can the clue what is wrong....
