    There is no "maximum keywords". You can rank a site for 1000 keywords if you know what are you doing. I suggest you to focus on 3-5 keywords for any page (Home Page or Inner Pages). When you rank then, choose another ones.

    Please explain your questions in detail, It's hard to understand you!

    Yes, I'd agree with @flegmatic, only focus on 3 - 5 Keywords for each page and don't target the same keywords on the site pages so they don't compete each other.

    Ealier days we try to rank 6-8 keywords from 1 page either homepage or landing page.But now after Panda & Penguin.Now days we target 3-5 keywords for a page or homepage..So that meta don't counted as SPAM
