No doubt they are different! I can tell you one big difference between them. indexing pages takes 1 week in Google while it takes more than that in yahoo, Also the period is differ in Yahoo, since paid submission indexed before unpaid submission..

 

Every search engine has its own algorithm which is different from others.

 

It is 100% different. Ignore yahoo, just focus on Google. They own the traffic on the net today. Yahoo is nothing.
