Anyone have the dates of Google's updates over the past 1 to 1 1/2 years? Everything I've found pretty much lists only up through 2003. I've got a new project with tons of visitor data and I'd like to see if I can make some sense of the trends when overlying the updates over the past year or so. Thanks ahead of time!
Okay let me qualify this... Specifically I mean major updates... the ones we name as we do with hurricanes... Anyone?
Okay lets forget I said "algorithm". How about just plain major update. Sure we know when they change - its when the rankings suddenly vary greatly for a couple of days and then are different than before. That link above is good 'cept its old - only updated through 2003. If we had that up to and including the February 2005 update that would be nice.
Agreed, It would be nice to see the "History" of google all in one place. I know of a site that has been tracking a few PR's and stuff......The Last December Christmas Update was a killer I recall...
From memory...so it could be slightly off Florida happened in November/December (it kind of spread into december). Then there were two more in the first 3 months (can't remember the first one's name but it started with an A, and then came Brandy). So, between November and March, there was one whopper update (Florida) and then two more afterwards that I think were sort of like adjustments to Florida. Similar to this year, where we had the December algo change (which wasn't nearly as big as Florida - not everyone even noticed it), then Allegra at the beginning of Feb. Wouldn't be surprised to see one more adjustment within the month. Of course, Allegra is such a long drawn-out one, that it may be encompassing another without us even realizing it.
This might help, for those who'd like a history of updates and Googlet changes...http://www.seocompany.ca/pagerank/page-rank-update-list.html
