Google Algorithm Factors - 2010

Hi all im going to list what i beleve to be the current factors to ranking in google please add to this list
(in no order)

1) Website Speed / Load Time
2) Inbound Links
3) Outbound Links
4) Content Quality
5) Pages indexed
6) website age
7) Accessability and internal navigation
8) Keywords in domain name
9) Meta Data , Desc & Keywords

Please continue list as im sure ive missed many out

I'm not sure why Google would use Pages Indexed as a ranking factor, plus your number 9 isn't accurate. Google hasn't used meta tags for years..I had a site over 2 years ago that kicked butt and I didn't even use the meta and keywords tags.

I also feel that lately Google is putting less weight on the keywords in the domain, but that's just my opinion.

 

Pages Index; if you have 500 pages about a specific subject Vs 5 then Google may give you a little more credit.

 

From my own experience it is easier to rank in a certaine keyword if the keyword is in the domain name.

I think the number of pages Google indexed in a website is based on its Pagerank.

Yes there can be a additional factor if the keyword is in the domain name, but I dont think its important. Google update and gives us surprises everytime they update their algo.

 

Well, its very important if you are try to make a few hundred blogs/sites on a targeted niches.
But ya, i agree with you in general terms. Domain name has very little to do with SERP. For instance, if you search some 'money' related searches then DP will be among the 10 sites that ranks in the first page though 'money' and 'forums.digitalpoint.com' have NOTHING in common

a) Its a fact that google now take website speed into their rankings
b) Meta Tags are still used massivly in the Google & SE market ... google sometimes displays the meta description

Google has webmaster tool for Website Speed/Load Time optimization , and it suggests you to how can optimize your pages for fastest loading. so it is an important parameter for google!

 

New Google update implemented this factor in the search engine algorithm. So This will matter now onwards.
