Hi Since the Google Algorithm Changes in Feb by site has dropped several pages on some keywords, which I beleive is not fair as I have quality links, excellent content etc....But such is life! Anyway there must be a problem, albeit it may not be that bad..as I have only dropped from page 2 to page 4 as the worst hit on keywords...Some keywords have stayed the same. Is there anyway I can find out what Google knocked me back on, or if there is a list on what this major change was based on, so I can makes relevant changes to website to hopefully imporve our positions. Thanks Rob
There is no way to narrow down exactly why Google knocked you back. Best thing to do is to just continue adding unique content and quality back links. It's also possible that the update wasn't exactly what knocked you back. All I know about that update is they penalized "content farm" sites with duplicate content or useless content that was only written to attract search engines and not users.
Google considers new and unique content in its recent updates. You will see new pages with the same keywords on the top in Google SERP. So, there is the competition of uniqueness and freshness.
maybe its because of your backlinks.. maybe they dropped on something that's your site is affected.. i suggest to continue building more quality links..
There is already a thread about this issue. Here it is-> http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=2089847 Kindly have some search before you post any new topic. That will help you and DP both.
Who says Google Penalty doesn't exists? Search this forum & google itself and you will get to know how & why sites are getting penalized by Google.
I do agree with RamCity that Google Penaly exists, however, I am not sure about google sandbox like thing as google never confirmend it. In my opinion there is nothing like sandbox its just a matter of the fact that how fast your site get indexed and how much quailty backlinks you get fast.
Because it doesn't. I've read tons of forums. Internet marketer like myths. If Google penalty and sandbox were real I would bury all my competitors there a long time ago. You just need to do all the supposedly bad things using their website. Unfortunately it doesn't work like this.
The Sandbox things exist in Wikipedia. Try being an Wikipedia Author and try to write some un-allowed things. They will send those to their SandBox(!). Again you are wrong.
we are in the same boat. I lost 90% of the Google traffic since that update. And I got penalty: http://tools.seomoves.org/penaltychecker/ I have an affiliate-reviews website.
The recent changes affected alot of sites, but if you continue to carry on building 'quality' links rather than 'quantity' links you will start to rise up for sure to the position you had been prior to the drop.Good luck with it
Fortunately, I am not affected by the update. In fact, I was benefited by it. I didn't do anything special...
