Hi I am doing quite a lot of affiliate marketing and have noticed that it is hard to promote products that are less then $30 in commission via Google AdWords as of the costs of the clicks. Are you having much luck with Google AdWords? Most of my sales come from Content Advertising, while Search Advertising is way too expensive and Placements dont convert at all. I would love to hear your experience and maybe tips on how to run my campaign more efficiently
I usually make about 500% the amount I spend using adwords.. sometimes more sometimes less.. however I'm a few thousand in the plus as I've never lost any money with adwords
ideally, any products less than $20 may not be worth promoting on google adwords due to the high bids... Good to know the content placements work for you
I am a search fan because you have greater control. I have a client who sells a product for $20 USD and we are just about in positive ROI though I have only recently developed his campaign. I am pretty sure I can make it pretty profitable. Paying around 50 cents per click.
with 1% conversion rate on average 50 cents per click just isnt profitable. shrkscn - where do you get most of your traffic from? search, content or placements?
Reach people when they are actively looking for information about your products and services online, and send targeted visitors directly to what you are offering. With AdWords cost-per-click pricing, it's easy to control costs—and you only pay when people click on your ad.
If you are bold enough ... any thing would be profitable if you invest more in Adwords.. you need to sustain your money flow in Adwords otherwise it's impossible..
Reasons for that: - traffic not targeted enough - sales letter isn't good enough Suggestions for landing page: - test different headlines (long, short, with benefits, eliciting curiosity,...) - test different approaches (positive motivational or negative harsh reality type) - test different calls to action (bigger buy now button, add text link to it, tell them about the transaction in sales letter etc) - test different colors of your landing page (light gray/blue for background usually converts better) - test design (more design, less design... think of craigslist.com) - test different prices (sometimes higher price converts better.. and usually you'll get a better ROI with lower prices) - try longer sales letter VS short sales letter (in some niches short sales letters convert better then the traditional long sales letters) etc etc Good luck
I care more about ROI instead of going crazy on my conversion ratio. Improving ROI by increasing conversion rate is what I usually do... We prefer search traffic over content network traffic because we can't measure content traffic as good as we can measure the results of search. Apart from that I think using placement targetting in combination with keywords is the way to go. If you do that you only get your ads placed on pages that are extremely relevant. Plus, you autimatically wipe out those shitty made for adsense sites...
Yes, when said I am profitable at 50 cents per click I am achieving a conversion rate between 3-7%. It's not an affiliate product, it's a product I am promoting for a company who has hired me as their Adwords person. As Adrian mentioned ROI is important and so long as this is positive conversion rate matters not.
the problem is that i am doing affiliate marketing and the bastard cant be bothered installing my conversion tracking
