For those of you who are in to multivariate testing, you might be interested in the release of Google Adwords Website Optimizer (though it doesn't seem to handle Taguchi tests unfortunately ... which is a huge shame) You can find out more here: http://services.google.com/websiteoptimizer/index.html Take a look and sign up if you think it will help optimise your site. Cheers Howard
I'm curious about the reporting...and why they didn't just integrate this into analytics. Seems like just an upgrade to the existing conversion tracking that analytics already has.
yaaa .... Now Google is also concentrating on the Landing pages in PPC activities along with ad copies, keywords, etc .. for better CPA and user experience !! Signed up and waiting for invitations .... Thanks!
http://services.google.com/websiteoptimizer/ This tool teaches to optimize the landing page, so that the visitor wanted to stay. First it shows you the possible variants of the page, then the experiments goes live, when all these variations are tested and the data is collected. In the end the best variant is defined.
Looks very good, there's a demo here. http://services.google.com/websiteoptimizer/setup/index.html, interesting to see what google will do with all the gathered information about our email, online documents, websites statistics and financial information.
Most probably because running split tests on landing pages is more to do with Adwords than it has to do with Analytics, and as not all Adwords users have Analytics accounts (huh!! ... and why not??!!) then it makes sense for it to be an Adwords tool. Also, it's not *just* conversion tracking, is it. H
Why do you say that? This tool won't make any difference to the amount of information Google already have about us ... H p.s. it surprised a client of mine when I told him Google would serve up different results depending on whether he was searching from home or from work. He didn't believe me, but after testing it out he was shocked ... "hell, didn't you realise all the info they have about our surfing habits is shaping the way we see results pages?" I said to him. ... which of course, makes a mockery of all those tools that measure your 'position in Google organic search for your search terms' ... yeah number one slot, but who's doing the surfing to get the results, eh?
the demo was quite helpfull, however i probably wont be using this. i signed up for an invite tho, no reply as of yet.
The tool is amazing. I've been running it for a few days and I can't say enough good things about it. I've used the paid services in the past, but this is so much better! (and FREE!!!) I wrote a little review on Google's Website Optimizer on my blog- check it out if you're interested!
I just received the invite and will testing it out over the next few days. Updates here and at my blog.
