Hot off the press and only $29 promo price. Could be a nice alternative on Perry Marshall's ebook:

    http://www.prweb.com/releases/2005/5/prweb236090.htm

$29 ($49 normally) is a small price to pay even if you only improve your campaigns by 0.05 Conversion Rate.

Could be a nice resource for those of you who are relatively new to AW.

Please review when yuo buy it!

Thanks for that Tops......just bought it, waiting for the password to come through....could take a couple of hours :( and will report back here after I have checked it out.
And I just finished rearranging my Adwords campaign :D
I will probably have to start over again.

Your not kidding  11 pages in total, the first two basically ads for their company. The rest is just a rearranged copy of stuff from googles adwords blurb.
The only original bit was where they tell you to choose keywords by pulling them from your competitors meta nametag, sheesh.

You get what you pay for but in this case it was worth nothing.
If anyone other than Tops had mentioned it I wouldn't have jumped in so fast, and as I am having problems with terms being disabled I thought they would discuss this.

Ok, I have been bitten again but am not about to give up..... can anyone point me to a good comprehensive guide to running an adwords campaign, I need to know strategies for running multiple groups to maximise my position and ctr, also ways to prevent my keywords being disabled.

I was thinking Perry Marshall but I get emails from him every other day and they just seem to be too spammy, besides I have listened to two of his tapes and they say a lot about nothing for about an hour each and then you get told to buy this or that to find out more......it just goes on and on.

I don't mind paying for advice but all you seem to get is promises, promises and send more money.

I have read a fair amount (and purchased a bit) but the key to my success......trial and error! Just check the reports once per week and track what works.

I do have the Perry Marshall one and that one isn't full of rubbish. It goes into tactics extensively (though don't remember reading about disabled words in particular). Bu then again, with a quality campaign you shouldn't get disbaled ads and when you do then it's a sign and you probably don't need them.

I'd make an individual ad for each disabled one. Two actually and keep deleting the worst one and keep writing new ones to beat the current best one.

Sorry to hear it was crap.

No problem, if we don't look into them we will never find out.....besides I got my money back :D

Tops suggestion is the way to go,
<<<I'd make an individual ad for each disabled one. Two actually and keep deleting the worst one and keep writing new ones to beat the current best one.<<<

Just keep in mind that every time you start a new ad or tweak an old one your position is going to be lower until the ad proves itself.

I have a lot of keywords placed "on hold" or "disabled", It's not the crap ones that never get clicked on either, some are very good terms......for instance today one was disabled that had 860 impressions, 19 clicks and a click through rate of 2.2%

You should look up Andrew Goodman. I'm acquainted with him and have done some business with him. Via the widely respected SEW Forums (Danny Sullivan), Andrew is the resident Adwords expert. I believe his first book is on Amazon (published by Harper Collins I believe) and his second book goes to press this or next week and will be out shortly.

He's also the moderator of the SEM2 Google Groups discusssion forum/list, which you may consider joining as its free.

I'm not fawning here, but I too have Perry Marshall's stuff, Google Cash and many others on the subject. As for meat you can really chew on, Andrew is the king in my judgement.

    Good luck!

What about Google Adwords 123 by Greg Heslin? Have you read that? I actually bought it and found that I already know half the stuff inside. But because of the other half, I totally recreated all my adwords campaigns.

After reading everything I could find from searching the web I bought Perry Marshall's book, it was probably good value but I found there is way too much padding in it. 95% of the content I had already found but I guess I was expecting too much.

If you are just starting out with adwords I would definately reccommend buying this Ebook or a similar one...it could save lots of hassles and a lot of $ trying to get it right. Google don't really tell you much at all :( .

Now I am an adwords expert  I have found adwords to be pretty basic but with some nasty twists. The worst twist is finding keywords are disabled before you get in your stride. That was the main reason I wanted to find advice about using adwords, I had lost keywords and couldn't get them back again. After all this research I have found it's pretty close to impossible to get them reinstated, Google adwords place your disabled keywords/terms in there memory bank and never forgets, even starting a new campaign won't help.
To keep a popular term alive costs money, it gets disabled when the clickthrough rate falls below .05%, and you only get 1000 impressions to get it right, if it gets to around .08% the only way to help it is to increase your bid amount....and even that might not be enough because Google have a couple more dirty tricks up it's sleeve.
