Hope I’m in the right section!!! What is reasonable setup fee to charge a client to do the following tasks? Research Keywords Suggest Keywords Competitive Analysis (analyze competition keywords, budget, cpc, etc.) Write Ad Upload Ad’s into Google Ad Words Account. *Campaign will be up to 800 words. What is reasonable fee to charge for on going maintenance? Any feedback would be welcomed. I’ll address any questions if you have them. We normally don’t offer this service, so that’s why we are asking.
I did some research(because I am now offering this service as an outside consultant), and most people are charging a 10-15%(of the total budget) management fee for set up and ongoing maintenance of a PPC campaign. I would set a minimum charge, though(in the range of $500-$1000) so that it's worth your time no matter what the budget is.
yeah, i think that's a fair price. you should also consider putting in performance incentives(e.g. for any sales above X, you get x% of the revenue generated)
I have thought long and hard about setup fees and management fees, i'm not sure if a % is the correct way to go however I understand why people choose this. A client spending $300 per day may be more work than a campaign with a $900 per day spend. I price individual accounts depending on the work required, set up is normally free and I do not ask for a minimum length of contract. I hope (and from experience) my campaigns work and therefore long term relationships which cover my initial time investment creating and researching keywords and the account. 2 examples, I have a client spending $900 per day ($27,000pm) I charge $850 per month another client spends $7.50 ($250pm) per day and charge $225 per month.
I think that's a great advice. People spending less would be paying more if you count in terms of percentage they are paying.
It should depend vastly on the competitiveness of the market. A competitive environment will take more of your time to break in and achieve success than a simple one. I would prefer a method that charges a minimum for setup and continuous management. I have experienced situations where clients get a setup and shut me out before they paid the monthly management fee, simply because they believed they were onto a winner with my expert setup and immediate results. It was unfortunate, but it realism. You need to know that most of the time, people try a DIY before they ask for help, so it's not that they a completely naive. In essence, I would recommend a minimum to setup and a percentage with an in-built minimum. This should be made as flexible as possible so as not to shut out very small businesses who might be keen to use your services. Cheers
