Google/Adwords Scams

    I came across a few articles that talk about the current glut of adwords/google scams on the internet and in my inbox.:mad:

    Here is a brief summary:


    * Google says it hasn't endorsed any of the fraudulent sites that use tag lines like "Use Google to Make 1000s of Dollars!" or "Easy Cash with Google: You Could be Making up to $978 a Day Working from Home!" "Google seeks to stop a widespread Internet advertising scam that is defrauding the public by misusing the famous Google brand."

    * Names to be wary of: Google ATM, Google Adwork, Google Biz Kit, Google Cash, Google Marketing Kit, Google Fortune, Google Profits, The Home Business Kit for Google, Google StartUp Kit, Earn Google Cash Kit, and Google Works.

    * Google says that many companies do legitimately make money placing ads on websites with Google AdSense.

    * "Thousands of people have been tricked into sending payment information and being charged hidden fees by questionable operations," Google said in a blog post December 8, 2009

    * "The scam victimizes unsuspecting consumers by prominently displaying the famous Google mark, by suggesting sponsorship by the plaintiff Google Inc., and by urging consumers to obtain a kit supposedly showing them how to make money working from home with Google."

    * Along with several other unnamed companies, the search engine giant sued software development firm Pacific Web Works in a Utah District Court.

    Am I the only one getting Google will make you rich e-mails?:confused:

    Thanks for the heads up....Im sure you are not the only one getting these emails. Mostly the ones I get get filed in the Junk folder...........

    i did got something similar email
    and i tried to subscribe it, it only requires me to put it some basic info like email and phone

    then they started to call me 80 times a day, i said no every time but still.... they will call back

    Get one of those whistles and blow their darn ears off when they call.
    I don't suppose you live in a country that has a do not call list... not that the will stop them, but does help a little...
    But google scams are only a few of the millions of scams out there.... hell its much worse with the id theft and bank cards and someone transferring thier fortune to you in the mail for you to keep for them..
