I have arrived here a little late but agree that the site was probably down at the time the clicks were made. I had the same thing happen to me, I didn't know the server had been having hassles until I received an email from the host the next day. In the meantime the clicks were being counted by Google as usual
I don't know - why not read the thread. Geez, give the guy a break. It could be the case that people "accidently" clicked on the ad and quickly pushed the back button... Unlikely though
so you think clickdefense and IIS are authorities to call google a scam... sorry i stopped reading at that point.
ahh someday maybe ill have time to read the whole thread... until then ill jump to conclusions from the title post =P
You know it's the people like you who jump on popular forums and post irrational and irreresponsible BS like "Google AdWords = SCAM" that continues to put more fear and more irrational thoughts into other advertisers heads. Maybe next time you'll put more thought into it before posting claims like this. Even though now you know it could easily be something like the server going down, the damage has been done.
I agree that you need to watch your backside...trust no one, accept your own mother, of course. But to state Google=Scam is a very bold statement. You may be correct that something isn't right. That being the case you may NOT receive a response from them, as some suggest your account is often credited back without notification. I do know that Google does everything possible to prevent 'click fraud' but no program is perfect. I am not defending either party here: shlap- seems to know how to read logos. Google seems to know how to run ALL there programs quite honestly.
If you read his earlier post, you'll see that he meant to put a question mark after the scam, so Google = Scam? He wasn't posting it as a statement, but as a question. And was asking us if we knew what was going on. Josh
I wouldn't say that Adsense is a scam, but it certainly has its problems. Same with Adwords. Certainly the fraud control isn't as good as I would like it to be. I'd be willing to guess that 25% of marketing costs go into paying fraudulent clicks. And since I'm not doing it on the adsense side, I won't see any of that money back.
