    Hello!

    Pros

When trying to generate revenue on your Adsense, Clickbank, or Amazon website, you are going to need to obtain traffic from Google. To get traffic from Google, you are going to need to find keywords with low SEO competition. Unfortunately, Google only provides Adwords competition which is more useful to PPC buyers, but not us. Adsense, Amazon and Clickbank webmasters need to know the amount of SEO competition, so they know if they can rank for a keyword or not. Google does not provide this, because they don't want you to find the secret keywords that have low competition. Google may think discovering low SEO competition keywords gives you an unfair advantage. Many keyword tools besides Google Keyword Tool (GAKT) provide SEO data, which is what you need.

Take a look at some of these advanced tools. This is how you find the real gems!

    Market Samurai:

    Keyword Scout:

    Conclusion

Although Google Adwords Keyword Tool does not provide enough data for professional internet marketers, it is a simple free solution for beginners to use, until they understand SEO. If you want to make money in this industry, you have to be ahead of everyone else, and you won't be ahead of everyone else, by using a free solution. Some keyword tools even scrape from Google Search and Amazon. Ensure to find which tools suites you best!

    Nice write up.

Don't forget that SEOMoz has some great tools too. Both paid and free.

Have never used keyword scout though it looks good. Many of the keyword tools pull data from google keyword tool. So, starting with the google tool never hurts. May take a few extra steps to research other competition data, but will save those who can't afford a tool in the beginning. if you've got the money out of the gate, get a keyword tool. SEO Cockpit is another great one.

Frankly you cannot compare GKT with other tools. Google AdWords Keyword Tool is not an SEO tool. It was never meant to! Google hates SEO and SEOers! It's main purpose is AdWords - end of story.

Everyone on this forum compares them. You can't prefer a tool over another, and then not want to compare it to the others. I brought reality to everybody.
