Google Adwords is no good for me!

    Ladies and Gentlemen,

I want to share my experience with you that I had with Google Adwords. I have recently received 75 GBP voucher from google so that I can try adwords, I deposited 25 GBP from my own pocket and started using google adwords, however, Google delivered approximately 50 unique visitors to my site but no sale and my funds exhausted.

I believe google is extremely expensive and the converson rate is not good. Has anyone else had the same problem with google Adwords?

    Thank you

By deault, content network is enabled and Google with search network also enabled. Make it enable only for Google search. Go for less keywords first, choose keywords wisely. do not go for broad keywords.choose exact and phrase matched keywords.

You had absolutely no clue about what you were doing. No wonder you made no money. Would you drive your car blindfolded without a working steering wheel? No? Don't use adwords then without taking some training and small steps of experience.

While not every product or service will do well, the problem in using Adwords or any other PPC advertising service is that most people just have no clue. One of the problems is that the search engines make it sound so easy when in fact, it is not. If it was, there wouldn't be guys like me offering management services.

PPC is not something you can pick up in an evening. It is advertising and there are courses in colleges lasting whole semesters on the subject. So it's no wonder that many people fail. My guess is that, like most of my clients, you used the wrong keywords among other things.

There is also an expectation that is wrong. It's not your advertisement that makes the sale, it's your sales message on your landing page. That's not Adwords' fault. Also, 50 visitors is just not enough, not when conversion rates across the board are reported as barely over one percent.

I think you need to reboot. Professional help might also be a good idea. This Adwords FAQ could help.

50 visitors means you spent ~$2 per click.

    1. You chose the wrong keywords
    2. Your QS was low
    3. Your ads were misleading

All three are guesses and mistakes I've made as well. You need to use Adwords based on your own budget. Research is also incredibly important.

You can't make a blanket statement based on spending $2 per click. In many industries, that's cheap and has nothing to do with choosing the wrong keywords or low QS.

However, having managed many accounts, the number one reason in my mind for poor results is poor choice of keywords, not understanding match types and poor ads (not necessarily misleading, most ads are not) which a low QS is indicative of.
